Rinsola Abiola, the
daughter of late philanthropist Moshood Kashimawo Abiola is having it very
rough in the battle to become a Federal House of Representatives Member.
The daughter of the
large-hearted spender dubbed the
best president Nigeria never had – the
election that would have brought him to power was annulled by military dictator
Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida – is seeking to represent the people of Abeokuta
North/ Obafemi- Owode/ Odeda federal constituency of Ogun state at the National
Assembly.
But she is undergoing
great intimidation from the man her father helped to educate, Mikail Kazeem.
Mikail is the candidate
of Allied People’s Movement while Rinsola is the face of the Action Democratic
Party in the fight for the House of Representatives seat at stake.
The late MKO Abiola who
lost his life and that of his wife, Kudirat in attempt to claim victory in the
election that would have made him president reportedly paid for Mikail to study
abroad when the later sought his help.
But the APC candidate is
certainly not returning the favor to Abiola’s daughter Rinsola.
Mikail who is said to
enjoy the backing Governor Ibikunle Amosun has unleashed series of open and
subtle intimidation tactics on his benefactor’s daughter.
‘’He has gone as far as
to order his boys to paste his posters all over Abiola’s house in Abeokuta in
open show of power’’ societynow.ng learned.
Insiders disclosed that
Mikail’s boys pasted his posters on top Rinsola’s at Abiola’s house in Abeokuta
and surrounding areas.
‘’They repeat the move
each time Rinsola and her supporters tear it off put their’s’’ a source stated.
Insiders disclosed the
move by Mikail is in the face of provocative gestures at Rinsola and her
supporters.
Sources, however,
disclosed that Rinsola who left the APC for the ADP to actualize her dream
after Governor Amosun claimed her father no longer as ‘’electoral value’’ has
refused to engage Mikail.
