In the bid to foster improved professionalism, service delivery excellence and greater knowledge output among all tiers of its community, Premiere Academy, in conjunction with the National Productivity Centre, Abuja, has held a one-day transformative workshop themed 'Productivity for Excellence in School'.
The Workshop afforded participants drawn from among
students and staff of every cadre to acquire modern productivity techniques
that not only enhance academic performance but also nurture life skills that
form the foundation of a successful and productive life.
Officials of the National Productivity Centre who conducted the workshop were led by a Director and Head of the Productivity Research Department, Hajia Mamunam Adaji Musa. Others include Mr. Okonkwo Martin, a Deputy Director; Mr. Chris Nweaze, an Assistant Director and Hajia Amina Binta Alhassan, Chief Productivity Research Officer 1.
The team described the commitment of Premiere Academy to
regularly re-tooling its processes and human resources for better and more
productive service delivery as a commendable policy.
Hajia Adaji Musa observed that Productivity, in an
educational context, transcended churning out endless assignments or racing
through textbooks and studying all night; adding that productivity’s ultimate
goal is centred on shaping a brighter future.
She therefore congratulated the school for recognizing the
power of Coaching and Mentoring, through professionally-structured partnership
with relevant third-party institutions, as a vehicle for helping its students
and staff understand that the right guidance at the right time can transform
challenges into opportunities and obstacles into stepping stones.
In his remarks, the school’s principal, Mr. John Olugbenro,
pointed out that the Workshop was not just a one-time event, but a
micro-evidence of a larger movement towards entrenching a more empowered and
productive educational ecosystem.
In his words, “We fully understand that
our settings, values and commitments, as well as our community of vibrant, thoughtful,
well-rounded, high-achieving young people, made up of staff and students, make
our school truly unique and strategically focused on producing problem-solving
future leaders. We
therefore aspire to create an environment where productivity is not just a
goal, but a way of life and through this series of impactful mentoring
programme, we keep taking significant steps towards embedding this culture into
our very fabric”.
He further noted that the self-confidence and transformation of lives and mindset engendered by the
school’s policy of regularly organizing professional mentoring sessions enables
students to capitalize on new situations and challenges, thereby
preparing them to strive to excel and be valued for all they achieve in
every sphere
“It also
generates the humility to acknowledge success of others, the compassion to
support those who encounter difficulties and the maturity to take
responsibility for themselves. Ultimately, this is a cardinal focus of the
school in creating a future where every student and every staff member stands
out as a shining beacon of productivity and a testament to the transformative
power of education”, he concluded.
