Trouble Over Sterling Bank Ambassador, Olamide's New Song Promoting Drug Use Not Over!

Olamide, the popular singer and Environmental makeover ambassador for  Sterling Bank is at the centre of a big mess.

The YBNL boss is accused of promoting drug use with his new song Science Students.

The Singer popularly known as Baddoo with strong ties to the

Lagos state government – he features prominently in the state activities – released Science Students a couple of days back.

And it was greeted with so much outrage that the singer was forced to issue a statement that the song was anti-drug use, but keen followers of event disagree.

Lyrics of the song talking of mixture of different medications to get high in apparent drug abuse were drawn up.

Entertainment personality Zik Zulu Okafor’s was so concerned that he did a video blog out rightly condemning the Sterling Bank Ambassador for the musical effort while calling for a sanction against him.

Other condemnations of the face of Sterling bank’s latest work include a call for his arrest – and prosecution for wrongly influencing his fans and the impressionable young ones in love with his music.

There are talks National Broadcasting Commission has reacted to the backlash of the release of Science Students with a ban on the song on radio, television and other broadcast channels under its authority.

Insiders, however, claim the anger sparked off by the release of the alleged drug abuse promotion song won't end with a ban.

There are said to be a growing movement on and offline calling for a direct sanction on the singer by musician bodies and other entertainment industry regulators.
