Multiple Crisis Hit Delta Speaker,Victor Ochei's Guber Ambition, As Supporters Become Wary!

The gubernatorial ambition of Victor Ocehi, the Speaker of Delta state House of Assemble is enmeshed in what is labelled 'multiple crisis'. And this development is said to be making key supporters a 'rethink' about supporting his candidature of succeeding incumbent governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan.

'The gubernatorial ambition of Speaker of Delta state, Mr Victor Ochei has hit yet another major storm.

And insider attribute this to fear of possible violence at meetings connected to realising his ambition.

The last on he held at Obomkpa, Aniocha North local government, Delta state witnessed an explosion that hit two people. The Speaker and other stakeholders had
reportedly scampered out of the venue, abandoning the objective of the meeting in the wake of explosion.

'The Speaker and his agents had claimed the guber hopeful was directly targeted, and the action an assassination attempt on his life. A claim the police contradicted with the explanation '“You know politicians are liars. Going by the account from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the area, the canon shooter who has since been arrested by the police was careless in the handling of the canon. The canon did result in the injury of two persons who are presently hospitalized. Nobody is planning to kill the speaker.”

Police investigation claim the explosion that rocked Ochei's political rally was the result of careless handling by the man employed to fire a traditional ceremonial canon to add color to the event- In the process of firing the canon.

The word on the street aided by Ochei's assassination claim is that, youths opposed to the Speaker's behind the plot.

The grapevine has it that, the antics is to show seriousness of oppose in rejection of Ochei as a possible Governor of the state.

Insiders revealed the development has sent jitters down the spine of stakeholders on the outcomes of pledging support for the aspirant.

Prior to this development, individuals operating under the title 'Delta State Youth Forum for Good Governance (DSYFGG)' petitioned anti corruption agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to probe Ochei for an alleged  N1.2 billion leadership training jamboree in the United States of America.

The youths alleged the E.F.C.C to investigate claiming ' the matter moral duty as citizens to press for accountability and responsibility of public office holders according to the mandate given by the people'.

The matter is still on.

'Aside this, concerned parties are also pressing for the E.F.C.C and relevant agencies to clinically  prosecute another case involving Mr Ochei. The controversial Independent Power Project valued at N27b that the speaker's firm identified as Davnotch is said to be handling.

The gubernatorial hopeful is accused of 'improper handling of the project', after securing mobilisation fee.

Insider further revealed outside of these cases bothering on financial misconduct, Ochei's ambition is heavily afflicted on another front. The manner is ambition was first made known at the Lagos home of Mr Abel Ubeku, a prominent Isoko leader and former chief executive of Guinness Nigeria Plc is said to have created deep rooted feud amongst elders in his area.

Sources claimed leaders from different walks of life had gathered for a thanksgiving reception in honour of Mr Ubeku for surviving a bout of stroke.

Ochei allegedly working in tandem with others reportedly attempted to use the opportunity to pass himself off as a 'consesus candidate' for the 2015 guber election at the occassion. Most of the leaders present viewed the approach sly and the move a slight on their person. The event was purely a social affair, with political foes in attendance.
