The inspector-general of police, Adamu Mohammed has announced the immediate disbandment of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) following nationwide protests over its brutality.
The Police boss says:
The immediate dissolution of SARS and redeployment of all officers serving within the unit while an investigation into activities will be undertaking with civil societies organisation and culprits punished.
Investigation will also be conducted into the activities of SARS with the collaboration of civil societies organisation while identified culprits within the force will be punished
