Ekiti Gov Kayode Fayemi Threatens To Jail Parents For Not Sending Children To School.

Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi has threatened to Jail any parent that refuses to enrol their children in school.


He pegged the parameter for determining offenders at ' those that did ensure their children enrolled in the Primary to Junior secondary classes'.

According to the state head man who claimed to have 'invested so much on education', such parents will be tried according to the Child Rights Law 2011.

The governor who made the disclosure at a registration ceremony for Kindergarten and primary pupils for the 2013/14 academic session claimed a monitoring unit to apprehend children that out to be in the school and use them to track down offending parents are already in place.

He claimed his administrations declaration of the of Free and compulsory education at junior level provided the leeway for his new 'go to jail, if you don't send your children to school' policy.
