It is revealed, Segun Agbaje and the financial institution he heads, Guaranty Trust Bank is the majo financier of the political campaigner of Jimi Agbaje, the PDP Gubernatorial candidate in Lagos state.
Sources attribute this development to hidden fact, they are both brothers.
Here are the details.
In the Peoples Democratic Party, Jimi Agbaje has marked his territory as
the party gubernatorial candidate of Lagos State. Through his wide
network of deep-pocket friends and his affiliations with Guaranty Trust
Bank, it came as no surprise that the pharmacist-turned politician was
able to floor, Musiliu Obanikoro in the PDP Lagos gubernatorial
primaries. His ambition to captain Lagos State has remained unwavering
and his political ambition can be described as rather strategic.
However, it has been gathered that GTBank Plc, under the leadership of
Segun Agbaje, who is the Managing Director of the bank, has been playing
a large part in Jimi’s political ambition, financing his course and
opening doors only monetary gust can set ajar.
Segun Agbaje
has always been actively involved in Jimi’s political footsteps,
puppeteering his brothers decisions and indirectly contributing to
political news through Jimi. At the onset of Jimi’s gubernatorial
ambition, especially his decision, Segun was reported to have been of
the people who advised Jimi dump his former party, the Democratic People
Alliance, and join viable political platform to actualise his ambition,
if he would consider deploying massive financial war-chest to the
ambition. Segun has since been one of the financial pillars to Jimi.
While
it has been highly speculative that Jimi Agbaje and Segun Agbaje are
relatives, not many people know that Lagos PDP Governorship Candidate,
Jimi and MD of GTBank, Segun Agbaje are blood brothers. The bond between
blood brothers holds firmer than can be imagined. They are both sons of
the late Chief Julius Kosebinu Agbaje, a popular Nigerian banker who
was for many years the Chairman of GTBank. It comes as no surprise that
Segun is a banking guru, having learnt the ropes of the business from
his father. Both successful men who have made strides in their
respective fields were conceived by Mrs. Margaret Olabisi Agbaje. Their
close relationship has since been established even as children. Aside
growing up together under the tutorship of the same parents, their late
father ensured all his sons attended the same school, St Gregory
College.
