Scion of Ibru family, Olorogun Oscar is said to be ill.
He is said to be battling addiction.
And according to reports he is currently interned in a rehabilitation home abroad.
Here are details of this development as revealed by thecapital.
'Oscar Ibru, 55, probably woke up one morning looking like a bowl of sauerkraut.
Then he most likely decided to quit whatever his habit was and retreated into hibernation mode, thinking if that was the way the process goes, then he certainly don’t need the towering highs and the abysmal lows of his best kept habit.
'Sources very close to the scion of the Olorogun Michael Ibru dynasty recently revealed to The Capital that he (Oscar) is recently cooling his lust for an expensive habit at a private home in London.
'Perhaps it was an intervention by family and friends that helped save his hide thus freeing him of the vicious shackles and lure of the habit.
'And maybe his sudden disappearance from the social scene and high society had nothing to do with a habit; Oscar Ibru perhaps, simply chose to maintain an unusually low profile.
Whatever the truth is, the Nigerian high society bemoans the sudden disappearance and continual absence of a man whose aristocratic features ornamented its circuits overwhelmingly.
Predictably, his family is worried and that is because even though Oscar has withdrawn from the public in order to regain his vitality, they (his family) are feeling the void created by his absence in no small measure. That is how grave the situation is.
'Oscar Ibru is the first son of Olorogun Michael Ibru and he controls several businesses with interests in shipping, oil and gas, real estate among others. Seven years ago, he contested the governorship election in Delta State but lost to Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the incumbent. He was recently honoured with the award of the ‘Most Outstanding Niger Delta Personality of the Year’ by the National Association of Niger Delta Students at the prestigious Apapa Boat Club, Lagos.'
