'We Went To Work And Heard That Exxonmobil Had Sacked 238 Of Us, And No Reason Was Given' - Disengaged Workers Cry For Benefit

Recently sacked 238 Exxonmobil workers are currently striving to get their disengagement benefits.

They claimed to have been sacked arbitrarily - with no offical reason -
and no pay off.

The victims alleged they were on break and resumed only to be welcomed with news of the shoking development.

Spokes person for the affected individuals, Mr Elioto Emmanuel made this disclosure in a chat with News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday October 19 2014.

He stated 'We were shocked because the oil company did not gives us any tangible reason for disengaging us. And nobody expected it.

'After the Sallah break, we went to work and heard Exxonmobil hd sacked 238 of us and no reason was given for that'

He bemoaned the current circumstances of the affected with further disclosures that, unplanned for - the occurrence has thrown the victims into a lot of hardship.

He calls on the oil company to pay what is due to them to alleviate the situation.

Mr Ozemoya Okordion, the manager, public and government affairs ( corporate communication ) of Exxonmobil is listed as confirming the sack, but did not state reason for it.

The sacked workers are contract staff of Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN) Unlimited in Ibeno, Akwa Ibom
