Delta Gov Ifeanyi Okowa Runs Into Trouble With Transporters Over Vendetta Campaign Against Former State C.E.O Emmanuel Uduaghan

The vendetta campaign of Gov Ifeanyi Okowa against the man he took over from, Emmanuel Uduaghan by moving against his politics and policies has landed him
a bit of crisis with transporters.

Here are the details

Delta State wing of the National Union of Road Transport Workers on Wednesday called on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to call some government officials in the state to order before they plunge his administration into early crisis.

The union particularly urged Okowa to urgently wade into the brewing crisis involving some government officials who were attempting to forcefully retrieve Delta City Buses from the union members.

The union members were angry that after former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan procured and gave the buses to members of the union to alleviate their poverty, some persons were out to discredit the laudable project.

The state Chairman of the NURTW, Chief Ifeanyi Obi, who briefed journalists in Asaba on Wednesday, said the move to retrieve the vehicles was in bad faith.

According to Obi, it was sinister to conspire against such a people-oriented scheme.

He said: “Nobody wrote officially to us or came to discuss the issue of vehicles with us but all of a sudden, they want to seize the vehicles.

“We believe that the Governor will call these people to order.

“This action is retrogressive and we are pleading to him to quickly intervene.
